Riding For Life
Freewheelers EVS is a registered charity, which offers an out of hours and free of charge courier service to the NHS. Our slogan “Riding for Life” describes our operation perfectly. We ride to play our part in saving peoples lives and we ride to save the NHS money that would otherwise be wasted on taxis or expensive couriers, but more than anything else we ride because we love it. In 2008, in recognition of the dedicated work of our volunteers, we were given The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. This is the highest honour that a voluntary group can receive, equivalent in status to an MBE.
Our service is provided by volunteers and we depend entirely on public sponsorship and donations.

Wessex 4×4 Response is a charity made up of volunteers that can offer a variety of services to Local Authorities, Emergency Services and other Volunteer Agencies.
Supporting within the areas covered by the Police Forces of Avon & Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire
Principally this is providing reliable transport in times of major emergencies and severe weather (snow & ice, gales, heavy rain and floods).
This can be to transport essential personnel or supplies to areas that would be hard or impossible to reach in normal vehicles, and also in support of emergency rest center’s set up by local authorities.
We can also provide assistance when an emergency response organisation’s own vehicle assets have been depleted by the demands made on them.

Hope for Tomorrow is a dedicated charity, bringing cancer care closer to patients’ homes via our Mobile Cancer Care Units (MCCUs).
As a cancer charity, we understand that time is a crucial factor for patients, and in 2007 we launched the world’s first ever Mobile Cancer Care Unit (previously Mobile Chemotherapy Unit) to bring vital cancer care closer to patients, enabling them to spend more time with family, friends and loved ones.
We develop, build, provide and maintain MCCUs to support patients who are going through Chemotherapy by alleviating the stresses and strains of travelling for appointments, along with reducing hospital waiting times.
We work in a unique partnership with the NHS helping to ease capacity challenges at hospital trusts. We now have 10 MCCUs operational in Gloucestershire, Somerset, South Wiltshire, Hampshire, East Kent, Lincolnshire, Cornwall, West Suffolk, East Essex and London/ Surrey, with two reserve MCCUs in place to ensure continuity of service during the maintenance schedule. We also provide a Nurses Support Vehicle with each MCCU, which allows the nursing team to travel to and from the daily treatment locations.
Since the launch of the first Mobile Cancer Care Unit (previously Mobile Chemotherapy Unit) in 2007, the charity has saved patients a total of over 2,000,000 miles and over 170,000 hours of travel and waiting time.
The charity won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise – Innovation, in 2016. The Award is the UK’s highest accolade for business success, and was made in recognition of our achievements since the Founder, Christine Mills MBE, set up Hope for Tomorrow in 2003.
